MIAMI - Canadas Eugenie Bouchard struck the first blow in her rivalry with Elina Svitolina, but since then its all gone the Ukrainians way. Nerlens Noel 76ers Jersey . Bouchard went down to a 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 defeat at the hands of Svitolina in her opening match at the Sony Open on Friday. Bouchard got the rivalry going two years ago when she won the junior Wimbledon title over Svitolina. Since then, Svitolina has beaten Bouchard three straight times, including at Indian Wells and in a Fed Cup tie in 2013. Montreals Bouchard had an impressive start Friday but was quickly overcome by Svitolina, who spent 98 minutes engineering her comeback, The winner broke Bouchard five times and profited from six Bouchard double-faults. Bouchard ended with a return error on her opponents first match point. "I played really well in the first, set, I was doing everything I wanted to do. But in the second and third my level went down," Bouchard said. "All the balls I was hitting well in the first set were going out, I was missing much more. Shes a good player who fought and stayed in the match." Bouchards life on court has been a challenge since reaching the Australian Open semifinals two months ago, Her best showing since was an Acapulco quarter-final last month before going out in the fourth round at Indian Wells to Simona Halep, the newest member of the top five on the WTA circuit. "There is more pressure but it shows that Im a target, the one the other girls want to beat," Bouchard said. "It shows that Im moving up and having more success. I feel it all more but its the path I want to be on." Bouchard got off to an early break over Svitolina in the first set and managed to hold on in a roller-coaster win to take the early lead. LOUIS -- Alexander Steen scored a power-play goal with 59.Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Arsenal defied the odds to collect all three points at the Etihad on Sunday thanks to a 2-0 defeat of Manchester City. The Gunners entered the contest in poor form in recent road matches against the top teams in the Premier League, a record highlighted by the clubs 6-3 defeat to City in the corresponding fixture last season. But Arsenal exorcised those demons Sunday with a comprehensive victory to keep itself in the hunt for Champions League football next season. The breakthrough came in the 24th minute after Vincent Kompany blocked Nacho Monreals run into the box, resulting in a penalty that Santi Cazorla converted with great aplomb. City emerged from the halftime interval with great endeavor but failed find the back of the net. For any of those mixed martial arts fans who complain the UFC has been watering down its recent pay-per-view cards, UFC 178 is an awfully potent response. Ryan Braun Jersey .The MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas will host several compelling fights Saturday night in a show stacked with prominent names and interesting stories. A touted UFC newcomer, a grudge match, several charismatic stars, an ex-champion on the rebound, a contender returning from tragedy — its all here.Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnsons title defence against Chris Cariaso is the main event, but Johnson (20-2-1) hasnt even been the focus of the promotion.Instead, Vegas and Southern California are festooned with billboards promoting former Bellator star Eddie Alvarezs UFC debut against Donald Cowboy Cerrone, or Irish featherweight sensation Conor McGregors much-hyped meeting with Dustin Poirier. The main card also includes crowd-pleasing middleweights Tim Kennedy and Yoel Romero, along with the return of bantamweight Cat Zingano. Even the deep undercard includes big names to mixed martial arts fans, with Dominick Cruz and Patrick Cote both attempting to kick-start their stalled careers.UFC 178 is stacked even after losing its main event last month. Jon Jones injured his knee while training to defend his light heavyweight belt against Daniel Cormier in the promotions most anticipated upcoming fight, which has been postponed to Jan. 3.The MMA world has been waiting years for Alvarez (25-3) to extricate himself from Bellator, watching the protracted legal conflict that played a role in limiting him to just one fight — a sensational bout with Michael Chandler — in the last two years.I feel like the timing couldnt be better, Alvarez said. I feel like the last 10 years was me building the confidence, learning how to be a champion, losing, winning and just experiencing everything. Now I think Im primed and ready to be on a big stage. The entertaining lightweight from Philadelphia finally got his release last month, and the UFC immediately matched him up with Cerrone (24-6), the beer-drinking, waterskiing good-ol-boy from Colorado who seemingly never has a boring fight.Cerrone even said he has never watched Alvarez fight — a claim that would be greeted skeptically from anybody except Cowboy.Im more excited than the fans, Cerrone said. Hes been a top lightweight for years now. Its not like he has to come here to prove himself.McGregor (15-2) has become a big name in just 18 months with the UFC, and the trash-talking, egocentric Irishmans charismatic personality would be a huge help to the UFCs attempts to promote its lower weight classes — as long as he keeps on winning.Just nine weeks after he stopped Diego Brandao in Dublin, McGregor returns for his biggest test yet against Poirier (16-3), another title contender on a three-fight winning streak. The fighters have traded acerbic verbal jabs for two months.I looked him in the eyes and I saw fear, McGregor said of his staredown with Poirier. I saw a broken man. I could look through his soul when I looked into his eyes. ... I see a basic fighter with a weak chin and a weak heart.Hes a jerk, Poirier said of McGregor. Hes full of himself, and Im going to beat him up, plain and simple.UFC 178 is so stacked that Cruz (19-1), once one of the sports biggest lower-weight stars, is featured in the preliminary fights on Fox Sports 1.Cruz won the WEC bantamweight championship in 2010 and carried it over to the UFC after the promotions merged, but hasnt fought since beating Johnson in October 2011, sidelined by serious injuries to his knee and groin. The 29-year-old Cruz missed three years of his prime with injuries, while Zingano is returning to the cage for the first time since she missed a shot at Ronda Rousey for the womens bantamweight title.Zingano earned it by upsetting Miesha Tate in April 2013, but she injured her knee and returned slowly from a difficult stretch that also included her husbands death in January. If Zingano beats Amanda Nunes, UFC President Dana White says shell be the No. 1 contender for Rouseys belt again.Johnson is a heavy favourite against Cariaso in arguably the biggest mismatch at UFC 178, but Johnson isnt taking his fifth title defence for granted.Im going to go out there and get a win and come out healthy, Johnson said. Matt Garza Brewers Jersey . That was the case when the Hawks beat the Indiana Pacers 108-92 on Monday night. It was the fifth time in the last seven games that the Hawks have held an opponent under 100 points.I think our defence is superb right now, said DeMarre Carroll. The Hawks (14-6) have now won eight of their last nine games, including seven straight, their longest streak since the 2009-10 season. The Hawks dominated early and built a 28-18 lead in the first quarter.Carroll led the Hawks early, scoring nine points — all from 3-point range. He finished with 12 points.Carroll has been struggling, so it was good that he got going Jeff Teague said. Once that happened it created a lot of open looks for everybody.Al Horford led the Hawks with a season-high 25 points and had eight rebounds and was one of four players to score in double figures. Teague had 21 points and Kyle Korver added 13.Our guys activity and energy on both ends of the court was good, Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. We just need to keep getting better and build off that. The Hawks came out firing from long range. Atlanta was 6 of 13 on 3-pointers during the first half, but struggled in the second half and finished 9 of 21.Weve had some good first quarters and obviously if we can make a couple threes that will open up the court and maybe allow us to get to the basket, Budenholzer said. The early outside success opened things up inside as the Hawks scored 22 points in the paint in the first half and finished with 48.The Hawks pushed their lead to 21 points three times. The first time was whenn Teague scored on a layup, was fouled and hit the freethrow to put Atlanta up 68-47 with 8:25 to play in the third quarter. Chris Carter Brewers Jersey. Indiana went on a couple of runs. Late in the first half the Pacers went on a 10-2 run to close the gap to 49-39, but the Hawks answered and took a 60-43 lead into the half.C.J. But it wasnt enough for the Pacers. Our energy level throughout the whole 48 minutes is not what it should be, Scola said. Teams are coming at us early and then we try to react and its just too hard.___BITTEN BY THE BUG AGAINThe Pacers lost another key player when Ian Mahinmi tore his left plantar fascia during Fridays loss to Sacramento. Last season the Pacers had 17 players on the roster throughout the season and they missed a combined 69 games. With the first unit struggling of late and Amir Johnson - one of the teams iron men - hobbling on an injured right ankle, Patterson knew he could get the nod in a challenging matchup against one of the leagues up and coming players at his position. Although it likely wasnt an easy sell, Dwane Casey and the coaching staff made the decision to rest Johnson, who had not missed a game due to injury in nearly two years, opening the door for his backup. "I started in Houston so its not new," said Patterson, downplaying his role in Torontos 108-101 home win over the Pelicans after scoring a season-best 22 points. "Its just all about making sure I have a positive role and I know my role on the team… making sure Im a significant part of our teams success." Since coming over in the seven-player trade from Sacramento in early December, Patterson has seen his role increase steadily, earning the trust of his coach and becoming the Raptors most reliable reserve. After Johnson was ruled out, Casey expressed concern about disrupting the chemistry of his second unit by removing a key cog in Patterson, however the forwards recent play made the decision an easy one. "I thought the matchup with (Anthony) Davis was a good one for him," Casey said of Patterson, who has scored in double figures 13 times over his last 20 games, averaging 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds, shooting 53 per cent from the field in under 24 minutes per contest during that stretch. "(Patterson) was able to stretch the defence and give us some offensive punch." Patterson gave the Raptors a lift where they needed it most. Toronto had been outscored in the opening quarter of the last four games, all on the road, before returning home Monday and getting off to a rare but crucial quick start against Davis and the Pelicans. Patterson - along with Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan - was one of three Raptors to score seven points in the first frame, knocking down both of his shots and helping his team take a 31-20 lead into the second period. Thats where Pattersons presence was missed, as Torontos bench came in and squandered a 15-point advantage. Led by reserve guard Tyreke Evans, New Orleans ripped off a 26-11 run to end the half and would go into the break knotted up with Toronto at 49 points apiece. "For whatever reason we are losing leads with our second unit, what its doing is putting a lot of pressure on our starters and putting them in big minute situations," said Casey with both DeRozan and Lowry hovering around 40 minutes on Monday. "I think they just have to get their rhythm back. Taking (Patterson) off the second unit hurts them a bit, but still we have to gett a rhythm with that second unit so we can rest our starters. Eric Hosmer Royals Jersey. ." Heavy mileage has taken its toll on Johnson. The Raptors forward turned his ankle in a win over the Magic late last month - the most recent in a series of ankle injuries - and, to character, had played and started in all five games since. He could have done the same Monday if necessary, Casey indicated before the game, but with the all-star break around the corner and his team poised to make a playoff run over the next couple months, Johnson finally got some much-needed rest. "Its tough to replace a guy like Amir," DeRozan said of Johnson, who had not missed a game to injury since Mar. 5, 2012 (he was suspended for one game last year and sat out the previous season finale). "Everybody has to step up and try to do a little more (without him). Everybody understands their role and once they [saw] Amir [was] out, [they had] to step up and hold down the fort until he gets back." "Were deep," said Lowry, coming off his best game since before the road trip, scoring 19 points to go along with 12 assists and seven boards, five of them offensive. "Thats how we play, thats how we roll. 15 deep." Patterson started six games with the Kings earlier this season and has made 54 starts during his four year career, most of them as a member of the Rockets. With Patterson stepping into the first unit, Tyler Hansbrough - who has fallen out of favour since returning from an ankle injury last month - took advantage of the opportunity he was given off the bench, scoring 12 points and grabbing six rebounds in 14 minutes. "Tyler and Patrick both carried us tonight," Casey said. "I thought they were huge in their minutes." "Tyler came in and was a pro. He brings physicality to the game that we need." Patterson and Hansbrough shared the assignment of neutralizing Davis, the Pelicans second-year forward, who has been a revelation in the Western Conference this season. Davis scored just two points, hitting one of his six shots in his first appearance at the Air Canada Centre exactly a year ago Monday but hes come a long way since then. The first-time all-star is one of five players averaging over 20 points and 10 rebounds and the only one doing so while shooting over 50 per cent from the field. Hes also on pace to become just the fifth player since 1973 to lead the NBA in blocks in his first or second season. "Anthony Davis is one of the most skilled big guys in the league," Casey said before the game, comparing him to a young Kevin Garnett. Davis was glued to the bench in foul trouble late in the third as the Raptors made their run and finished the game with 19 points and seven rebounds while Evans, 24 hours after being bench for disciplinary reasons, had 23 points and 10 assists off the bench for New Orleans. Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

LOS ANGELES -- A judge refused Friday to immediately release former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper from jail in a Los Angeles rape case but said she would have to free him soon if charges arent filed in a similar case in Louisiana. Chipper Jones Jersey . The ruling came after lawyers for Sharper argued that he had been freed on $1 million bail and pleaded not guilty in the Los Angeles case but was jailed again after an arrest warrant was issued last week in Louisiana. "To hold him into perpetuity on an arrest warrant seems to be grotesquely unfair," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Renee Korn said. The judge set a hearing for Thursday to give Louisiana prosecutors time to charge Sharper or for that states governor to seek his return through another type of warrant. It was the latest development in several ongoing sexual assault investigations involving the 38-year-old Sharper in Louisiana, California, Florida, Arizona and Nevada. In a bail motion filed last month, Los Angeles County Investigator John Maccharella described a pattern in which the former football star met women at clubs or parties and lured them to a hotel room, where they were allegedly drugged and raped. The New Orleans warrant says police learned from witnesses that Sharper and associate Erik Nunez had acknowledged having nonconsensual sex with two women. It does not elaborate on how the information was obtained or disclose the names of the witnesses. "Through further investigation by the detectives it was learned that Nunez and Sharper admitted to other known witnesses that he and Sharper had vaginal and/or oral sex with victims .1 and .2 without their knowledge or permission," the warrant states. Sharpers attorneys say he never made such statements and the arrest warrant was a pretext to hold him indefinitely without bail. Prosecutors, however, said they were following the law. Chris Bowman, a spokesman for New Orleans District Attorney Leon A. Cannizzaro Jr., said he could not comment on whether Sharper would be charged before the Thursday deadline set by Judge Korn. "Its an open investigation," Bowman said. "Im not going to comment on it. Im not going to put a timetable on it." In Los Angeles, Deputy District Attorney Javan Wygal said it would be difficult for Louisiana authorities to prosecute Sharper because under the laws of that state, the case there would expire within four months if Sharper isnt tried. Sharper was selected All-Pro six times and chosen for the Pro Bowl five times. He played in two Super Bowls, one with the Green Bay Packers as a rookie and was part of a successful championship run while with the New Orleans Saints. He retired after the 2010 season and was working as an analyst for the NFL Network before being fired last week. Leonard Levine, a lawyer for Sharper in Los Angeles, has said Sharper will be cleared in the cases. "All of these were consensual contact between Mr. Sharper and women who wanted to be in his company," Levine said after a court hearing last month. Nunez, a waiter, has been arrested in New Orleans, where a judge on Friday set his bail at $400,000. His lawyer Herbert Larson said prosecutors only had hearsay evidence against his client. Court documents in Los Angeles state that Sharper has submitted DNA samples to New Orleans police and agreed to turn himself in there if he is charged. Nunez also submitted DNA in the case, Larson said, adding that his client is not a flight risk. Sharper had been released on bail in Los Angeles on the condition that he remain in the city, stay away from nightclubs and not be alone with any woman he did not know before October, when the first allegations emerged. His attorneys contend he did not violate any of those terms before turning himself in after the Louisiana warrant was issued.   Orlando Cepeda Jersey .  City has reached new heights under manager Manuel Pellegrini as they transition from big spending/immediate impact to perennial contender.  Yaya Toures seeming discontent Tuesday may complicate that, as does the little issue of Financial Fair Play. Hank Aaron Braves Jersey . But back-up Peter Budaj has put up two wins and an overtime loss while starting three games in four nights since Price went down with a suspected groin injury.STILLWATER, Okla. -- Boosters and assistant coaches at Oklahoma State handed out tens of thousands of dollars to players for at least a decade as the program grew into a national power under coaches Les Miles and then Mike Gundy, according to a Sports Illustrated article released Tuesday. The article, which quoted several former players by name, said some players received $2,000 to $10,000 annually, with a few stars receiving $25,000 or more. Eight players told SI they received cash, while 29 others were named by teammates as taking money. The transgressions cited stretched from 2001 until at least 2011, the magazine said. Oklahoma State said it has notified the NCAA about the report and launched its own investigation. Sports Illustrated said its five-part series included interviews with more than 60 former players who played for Oklahoma State from 2001-10. Among the allegations of misconduct and potential NCAA violations are: -- An Oklahoma State assistant coach, Joe DeForest, paid cash bonuses to players of up to $500 for performance. -- Boosters and assistant coaches funneled money to players and provided sham jobs for which players were paid. -- Tutors and school personnel completed school work for players and professors gave passing grades for little or no work. -- The programs drug policy was selectively enforced, allowing some players to go unpunished for repeated positive tests. -- Some members of a hostess program used by the football coaching staff had sex with recruits. NCAA rules bar boosters from providing cash or other benefits based on athletic performance. NCAA spokeswoman Emily Potter declined comment when asked about Oklahoma State, citing the organizations longstanding policy. SI reported that eight former Cowboys told the magazine they had received cash payments tied and 29 others were named by teammates as having also taken money. Former player Calvin Mickens said he was handed cash in the locker room by a stranger after Oklahoma States 2005 season-opening victory, a game in which he played well. "I was like, Wow, this is the life!" Mickens told SI. "Im 18, playing football and I just got $200." He said he got money at other times, including $800 later that season after the game at Texas A&M, and saw teammates getting similar handouts. Former defensive tackle Brad Girtman said he saw some star players get "monster payments," while he once received $500 from a member of the football staff. Girtman said the rates were told to him by Joe DeForest, who ran special teams and the secondary under Miles and then was an associate head coach under Gundy, the current head coach, from 2005-11. Girtman also said he recalled DeForest handing him a debit card in 2003 with $5,000 on it and that it was periodically refilled. DeForest and assistant Larry Porter, the running backs coach from 2002-04, also made payments directly to players, SI reported. DeForest is now an assistant at West Virginia, which has launched an internal review. "While our assistant football coach has denied the allegations, it is the right thing to do to look into the matter and review practices here," athletic director Oliver Luck said. Phil Niekro Braves Jersey. Texas mens athletics director DeLoss Dodds said Porter was questioned and "we do not have any issues with him at this time." Miles has said he didnt know of any improprieties while he was the Oklahoma State coach. "I can tell you this: We have always done things right," he said after LSUs game Saturday night in Baton Rouge, La. Energy tycoon T. Boone Pickens, the biggest booster of his alma mater, said he was disappointed the expose focused on Oklahoma State "a decade ago." "There have been wholesale changes at the school in recent years in leadership and facilities," he said. "During that time, I have given more than $500 million to OSU, for athletics and academics. Have I gotten my moneys worth? You bet. We have a football program that has a commitment to principled sportsmanship." Several former players under Miles told SI that boosters were highly visible -- in the locker room, on team flights and bus trips. After the Cowboys knocked off archrival Oklahoma in 2001, boosters approached key players and slipped cash into their hands, said former player Fath Carter. "We are talking about $500 handshakes," he told SI, which also detailed several examples of alleged sham jobs in which players were paid hundreds of dollars for little or no work by boosters. William Bell, a defensive end in 2004, said he and a teammate were directed by a member of the coaching staff to a boosters home to do a job. When they arrived, they were told their "job" for "a couple hundred dollars" was to fish for catfish at a nearby pond "And we got to keep all the fish we caught," Bell told SI. Gov. Mary Fallin said Tuesday that the allegations against her alma mater were "disturbing and disappointing" and that she is confident the schools administration will investigate the charges thoroughly. Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder said the school has notified the NCAA "and theyre going to assign an investigator." "Well reach out and get someone to stand with that investigator and go through the facts and at the end of the day, well come to some conclusions and well deal with those, prop ourselves back up, polish off that OSU brand and move on down the road," he said. Gundy, who is preparing the No. 13 Cowboys for their home opener on Saturday against Lamar, said he was confident the proper steps would be taken. The team said Tuesday no players will be made available to comment until after the game. "Im going to guess that once we get all the information and we see whats out there, then our administration, our people inside, will look at it and well see where we made mistakes," Gundy said. "And well try to make ourselves better and well correct it and then well move forward." Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

NEWARK, N. Paul George USA Jersey .J. - Travis Zajac had a goal and an assist, and Cory Schneider made 26 saves, but Jaromir Jagr called unheralded Jordin Tootoo the star of the game for the struggling New Jersey Devils.Tootoo didnt figure in the scoring as the Devils beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 on Monday night. However, Tootoo contributed with his fists, twice fighting Penguins defenceman Robert Bortuzzo in the second period to exact a measure of revenge while providing a needed spark. To an extent, the bouts were preordained. Bortuzzo was a marked man after delivering a big hit on Jagr in the teams previous meeting. The NHL determined the infraction was excessive and suspended Bortuzzo for two games. This was the Devils chance to seek on-ice justice, and Tootoo took the challenge. He was the No. 1 star, for sure, Jagr said. He changed the game. Everybody knew it was coming. Its not an accident that after his fights we scored goals. It was perfect timing, and we took advantage of that.Tootoo knew what his task would be.I wasnt going to let him off the hook, Tootoo said. Thats part of my job, to create energy and emotion. I couldnt have done it without the confidence of my teammates. The first fight was a draw, but Tootoo scored a decisive knockdown in the rematch. He did a great job for us, Zajac said. Hes a guy who comes to the rink every day, works hard and knows his role. Not many guys want to do what he does.Jagr and Adam Henrique also scored for New Jersey, who won for only the second time in 10 games (2-5-3).It was also New Jerseys first win in two games since general manager Lou Lamoriello fired coach Pete DeBoer on Friday and joined new coaches Scott Stevens and Adam Oates behind the bench as part of a three-man committee.Sidney Crosby scored for the Penguins, who have lost four straight. Marc-Andre Fleury made 24 saves. The Devils slowed the tempo at the start to a pace they could handle. That changed on Crosbys dazzling goal.Swinging around defenceman Andy Greene, Crosby whipped a backhander under the crossbar to make it 1-0 at 14:37 of the first period. It was just the second goal in 13 games for the star centre.Yeah, maybe its one of the best ever, and it was nice to get it, but it was only nice at the time because we didnt win, Crosby said. That ignited the Penguins, who started pouring on the shots. Schneider made a pad stop on Chris Kunitz before denying Derrick Pouliots drive from the right wing following a setup pass from Evgeni Malkin. The Penguins outshot the Devils 9-7 in the first.Momentum swung New Jerseys way in the second when the Devils took a 2-1 lead on goals by Zajac and Jagr.Zajac pulled New Jersey even with a power-play goal at 5:33, swiping home the rebound of Marek Zidlickys point shot.It was Zajacs first goal since Nov. 22. He was scoreless in eight games since and missed eight more because of a groin pull and a case of the mumps.Schneider kept it 1-1 late in the period with a point-blank stop on Kunitzs power-play shot.Jagr gave the Devils the lead shortly after the penalty expired, snapping in a shot from the right circle with 1:20 remaining.Henrique put the Devils up 3-1 at 5:32 of the third, jamming the puck in with Zajac getting an assist.Fleury stopped Jagrs breakaway bid several minutes later. It was another frustrating night for Pittsburgh in New Jersey as the Devils earned their fifth straight home win over the Penguins. Its a tough place to play, Fleury said. Once they got the lead, they shut it down on us. I dont understand it. Its just a tough place for us to play.NOTES: Both teams added players from their AHL farm teams. New Jersey recalled forwards Stefan Matteau and Joe Whitney from Albany, and Pittsburgh summoned D Brian Dumoulin from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. ... The Penguins scratched G Thomas Greiss (mumps), D Scott Harrington and RW Steve Downie (mumps). The Devils scratched Matteau, D Seth Helgeson and C Jacob Josefson. ... The Devils saluted Scott Gomez before the game for having played in his 1,000th NHL game on Saturday. ... It was Schneiders first win against Pittsburgh (1-4-0). ... Lamoriello said C Stephen Gionta broke a hand while blocking a shot and will be sidelined indefinitely. Taj Gibson Bulls Jersey . I played four matches in the last seven months — thats not enough to be back with confidence. The loss to Michael Berrer in Doha on Jan. 5 was another deflating result. When that happens after a tough period of injuries you arrive here with doubts, he said. Playing in his second game with the Flames, Mason Raymond notched his third career hat trick. His first two had come against Calgary while playing with Vancouver. Thats a lot of fun, Raymond said. Most important is that we got those two points. His second goal snapped a 2-2 tie 4:23 into the third period and he completed the feat with 5:18 remaining. Jiri Hudler and T.J. Brodie also scored and Joe Colborne had three assists for the Flames, who got 38 saves from Karri Ramo in the victory. PHOENIX -- Gerald Green came to the NBA straight from high school with an abundance of raw talent that never translated into a big-time pro career. cheap stitched jerseys . Then came his off-season trade to Phoenix -- his seventh team in seven seasons -- and he seems finally to have found a home. On Thursday night, especially in one remarkable quarter, Green was as good as it gets against one of the best teams in the NBA. He scored 25 of his career-high 41 points in the third quarter and the Suns erased a 16-point deficit to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 128-122. "I havent done nothing in this league," Green said. "Every day I come into practice or come into a game, Im just trying to prove myself." Markieff Morris added 24 points, including two free throws with 24.4 seconds to play. Goran Dragic scored 22, including six of the Suns final 12 points after Oklahoma City led 118-116. Russell Westbrook scored a season-high 36 for the Thunder, who would have pulled a half-game ahead of Indiana for the NBAs best record with a victory. Kevin Durant added 34. Greens outburst fell one point shy of a Suns record for most points in a quarter set by Stephon Marbury in 2002. His career-best eight 3-pointers also was one shy of the franchise mark. "I love the way hes playing right now," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. "We knew he could shoot the ball. Theres not too many guys that can get on a roll like that. The thing that makes him unique (is) some guys you can get up into and maybe challenge a shot a little harder. But Gerald just jumps over everybody. Hes making shots that other guys cant get that high to shoot." It was Phoenixs second 40-point performance in four games. Dragic had 40 against New Orleans on Friday. Green set a career high for the second time this season. He had 36 at Denver on Feb. 18. In the third quarter, Green was 7 of 11, including 6 of 6 on 3s. Fouled on a 3-pointer with 6.9 seconds left, Green missed one of the three free throws or he would have tied Marburys franchise record. "I was just feeling it, man," he said. "Guys were finding me in transition. I was just being real aggressive. ... Im not afraid to take big shots. Im not afraid to take any type of shot. " The Thunder had won three in a row, but have lost four of seven. "We gave up 15 3s and we put them on the free throw line 39 times," Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks said. "Youve got to get back. Weve been talking about it for about 10 days now. Youve got to get back in a defensive disposition when we play these teams who are small and fast and quick." Westbrook agreed. "Defensively, thats got to be our identity," he said. "We can score with the best of them, but weve got to be able to stop them." After trailing by as many as 16 in the quarter, the Suns scored the final 14 points of the third to lead 101-98 entering the fourth. The run reached 21-3 when Marcus Morris 3 put Phoenix up 108-101 with 9:34 to play. But Westbrook brought the Thunder back. He made three 3s, the last to tie it at 116 with 4:34 to play. Ibakas dunk put Oklahoma City back on top, 118-116, with 4:10 to go. Dragic tied it with a driving layup with 2:22 left, then his reverse layup gave the Suns a 118-116 lead with 2:02 left. He was fouled on the play but missed the free throw, one of 10 misses from the line by Phoenix. Oklahoma City was 19 of 19. Markieff Morris scored to make it 122-118 with 1:11 left, then Durant cut it to 122-120 with 1:01 to go. Dragics 16-footer boosted the lead to 124-120 with 45.9 seconds remaining. Durant scored again to make it 124-122 with 40.9 seconds left. But Morris made two free throws, then twin brother Marcus made two more with 5.6 seconds to go. Up by four at the half, Oklahoma City used a 13-3 surge to build a 96-80 lead on Caron Butlers fourth 3-pointer with 3:47 left in the third. Notes: The Suns were without centre Miles Plumlee for the second game in a row with a sprained shoulder. ... Phoenix G Eric Bledsoe is close to playing and could be back in any of the coming three games. ... The Thunder had won three in a row in Phoenix. ... ORCHARD PARK, N. Maurice Cheeks 76ers Jersey .Y. -- Bills centre Eric Wood was not at all surprised hearing team president Russ Brandon raise concerns whether Buffalo loses a competitive edge playing annual home games in Toronto. Brandon first questioned the benefits of the "Bills In Toronto" series during a meeting with Wood and fellow team captains about a month ago. "He knew that a lot of players have expressed some harsh feelings toward Toronto," Wood said Wednesday. "And he basically told us as captains that he was going to do whatever it takes around here to win. And thats something he wanted to address." Brandon went public with his concerns during his weekly show on Buffalos WGR-AM earlier in the day. While noting the Bills games north of the border have boosted the small-market franchises revenues, Brandon added that they havent paid off in wins. Following a 34-31 overtime loss to Atlanta on Sunday, Buffalo dropped to 1-5 in Toronto since the series was established in 2008. "It has been a challenged market there, and certainly has not translated into enough wins for us there," Brandon said. "Nothing comes above winning. When I took over the reins on Jan. 1, I said that was the No. 1 focus, and that will be the No. 1 focus. Thats one of the reasons that this will be reviewed in a grand manner." Brandon stopped short of saying the Bills would consider or be allowed to opt out of the four remaining years of the deal, which they renewed in January with Toronto-based Rogers Communications. "Im going to look at everything. Ill just leave it at that," Brandon said, before being asked a second time whether the Bills can opt out. "My focus in this organization is simple, to put ourselves in the position to win championships and sustain success. Period. Nothing comes above that." Wood has been among several players who have criticized the series. He called the games in Toronto "a joke" last year following a 50-17 loss to Seattle. Last week, receiver Stevie Johnson questioned whether the warm-weather Falcons "fixed" the schedule in getting to play indoors at the domed Rogers Centre, and avoid the wintry conditions -- and traditionally more raucous environment -- at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y. The loss put a big dent in the Bills chances of staying in the AFC playoff race. At 4-8, Buffalo plays three of its final four on the road, beginning with a trip to Tampa Bay (3-9) on Sunday. Buffalo is in jeopardy of extending the NFLs longest active post-season drought to 14 seasons. And the Bills will go a ninth straight year without a winning record. The Bills are 0-4 at Toronto during December. Their lone win came on Oct. 30, 2011, when they defeated Washington 23-0. Rogers officials declined to comment on Brandons statements. So did NFL vice-president Christopher Parsons, who heads the leagues international offices. The Bills made the decision to play games in Toronto, about a 2-hour drive from Buffalo, in a bid to expand their fan base and generate additional revenue from Canadas largest city and financial capital. A lack of home-team support and poor attendance remain issues since the series started. The announced crowd of 38,969 on Sunday was by far the smallest of the series, and well short of the stadiums NFL capacity of 46,470, not including suites. Rogers did announce the first four regular-season games had been sellouts before later acknowledging the totals included thousands of free tickets. The games also attract a larger than usual contingent of visiting team supporters. Several Atlanta players were pleasantly surprised to see a notable number of fans wearing Falcons jerseys in the stands on Sunday. "The crazy part is we had a lot of support here," Falcons safety William Moore said. "It didnt feel like we were in Canada." The series has generated revenue and lured more southern Ontario fans back to Buffalo. The Bills estimate Canadians now make up about 15 per cent of their season ticket base. That rivals the number of season ticket holders the Bills get from nearby Rochester. As part of the initial five-year deal, Rogers agreed to pay $78 million to essentially lease eight Bills home games: five regular season and three preseason. The final preseason game was eventually dropped because of scheduling difficulties. In exchange, the Bills earned more than double what they usually generated from hosting games in Buffalo. The value of the most recent deal has not been revealed. Joel Embiid Jersey . The Oilers have been shut out in three straight home games and are in last place in the Western Conference with a 4-14-2 record. "Things have obviously not gone as well as I would have thought probable. Julius Erving Jersey . Petersburg of the KHL. Belov was a free agent last summer when he signed a one-year contract with the Oilers. In 57 games this season he had one goal and six assists with 34 penalty minutes in Edmonton.HOUSTON -- George Springer singled home the winning run in the 11th inning to give the Houston Astros a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night. The touted rookie came through with an infield hit toward third after beginning the night 0 for 5 with four strikeouts in a game started by Seattle ace Felix Hernandez. Jose Altuve singled off Charlie Furbush (0-3) to open the 11th and Dexter Fowler reached on a bunt single. A sacrifice bunt by Carlos Corporan came next, and Altuve beat the throw to third to load bases for Springer. Anthony Bass (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings for the win. Marc Krauss had two hits and drove in two runs for Houston. Mike Zunino hit a two-run homer and Kyle Seager added a pair of RBIs for Seattle, which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Houston had trouble taking advantage of chances throughout the game and was 3 for 17 with runners in scoring position. Robinson Cano was initially ruled safe on a grounder with two outs in the 10th inning. But the play was challenged and overturned on replay to end the inning. The Astros tied it at 4 in the eighth when Alex Presley scored on a groundout by Jonathan Villar. Hernandez allowed five hits and three runs -- two earned -- with six strikeouts in five innings. Houston starter Brad Peacock gave up six hits and four runs while also striking out six in six innings. Michael Saunders started the sixth with a bunt single and Cano drew a one-out walk before Cory Hart singled to load the bases. Seagers two-run double came next to give Seattle a 4-3 lead. Carl Landry Jersey. Springer had a chance to catch the ball in right field, but it bounced off his glove as he crashed into the fence near the bullpen. Springer was down on the ground as Fowler came over to retrieve the ball. Seager singled with no outs in the fifth before Zunino connected on his homer to the Crawford Boxes in left field to tie it at 2 with two outs. Hernandez plunked Jason Castro in the fifth before Krauss RBI single, on a ball that bounced right in front of the wall in right field, put Houston back on top 3-2. Krauss was out at second trying to stretch the hit into a double. Altuve had a bunt single to start Houstons third before a single by Fowler. The Astros went up 1-0 when Castro reached and Altuve scored on an error by centre fielder Abraham Almonte, who was sprinting toward the wall when the ball just eluded his glove. Krauss RBI single sent Fowler home to push the lead to 2-0. NOTES: Seattle RHP Hisashi Iwakuma (finger) is scheduled to come off the disabled list and make his season debut against left-hander Dallas Keuchel when the series continues Saturday. Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said Iwakuma will likely by limited to about 100 pitches. ... McClendon said he expects RHP Taijuan Walker (shoulder) and LHP James Paxton (back) to start throwing bullpens sometime in the next week. ... Houston signed left-handed reliever Tony Sipp. The Astros also optioned RHP Paul Clemens to Triple-A and transferred RHP Jesse Crain to the 60-day disabled list. Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '

SAO PAULO, Brazil - Uncertainty about Brazils readiness for the World Cup opener will linger a little longer after FIFA and local organizers postponed the final test event at the troubled Sao Paulo stadium because of concerns from local authorities. Derek Norris Padres Jersey . The Brazilian league match scheduled for May 29, a Thursday, was moved to the following Sunday to keep the event from disrupting the citys "operational routine" on a working day. FIFA says it also decided to re-schedule the match to a weekend to "ensure it attracts more than 50,000" fans needed to properly test the stadium. Fewer than 40,000 people attended the first test match at the Itaquerao stadium last weekend, when the 20,000 temporary seats being added for the opener couldnt be used. Nearly 70,000 people are expected for the Brazil-Croatia match. Derek Norris Jersey . At a news conference Tuesday where it was thought that the fiery Schallibaum may be shown the door after a dismal finish to the Major League Soccer season, team president Joey Saputo said no decision has been made on whether the Swiss Volcano will be back in 2014. B.J. Upton Jersey .The ruling takes effect on Jan. 1 and stems from the debate surrounding Paralympic champion Markus Rehm, an amputee who won the national long jump title competing with a carbon-fiber prosthesis.Connacht and Saracens secured domestic silverware this weekend but which of their players made our Sky Sports team of the week? 15. Alex Goode (Saracens) Alex Goode capped off an impressive season with a man-of-the-match display at Twickenham Alex Goode just pips Connachts Tiernan OHalloran who was outstanding against Leinster. However, the Aviva Premiership player of the season shone as Saracens claimed a historic European and domestic double with a 28-20 win over Exeter Chiefs on Saturday. The full-back made 167 metres, 104 more than any other player on the field, beating six defenders in the process. After a couple of early fumbles, Goode regained his usual composure and used the Chiefs off-colour kicking game to showcase his ability in attack, capping his fine performance with the decisive try five minutes from time. 14. Timoci Nagusa (Montpellier)  Timoci Nagusa scored twice as Montpellier defeated Toulon Nagusa scored a try in each half as Montpellier downed Toulon and edged ever closer to sealing a top two finish in the Top14.Despite Toulons lack of ball and territory they dragged themselves within two points of the hosts five minutes into the second half before Nagusa came to the rescue of his side with a try to take them out of the immediate grasp of the three-time European champions.  The winger also topped the metres made stats with 83 in the eventually comfortable win. 13. Israel Folau (Waratahs) Israel Folau helped the Waratahs overcome table-topping Chiefs with an attacking master-class in the centres Israel Folau put in an attacking masterclass as the Waratahs defeated the table-topping Chiefs 45-25. Even then, we battled to break up the Henshaw/Aki partnership but in the end flipped a coin and Folau is in! He lit up the Allianz Stadium when he raced away against the run of play for a 90 metre intercept try before his second of the match in the 64th minute secured the victory for the Australian side. However, it was not just on the scoreboard that the dual international made an impact, he was a thorn in the side of his opponents all match, causing problems with nearly every touch - England beware.12. Bundee Aki (Connacht) Connachts Bundee Aki takes on Leinsters Garry Ringrose Another superb performance from Aki. His battle with the highly rated Ben Teo did not quite materialise as Teo seemed overwhelmed by the occasion.Aki was at the centre of everything Connacht did well and, along with Robbie Henshaw, caused chaos in the midfield in both attack and defence. With 12 carries and 17 tackles, Aki was everywhere.11. Matt Healy (Connacht) Highlights of the Guiness Pro 12 final between Connacht and Leinster from Murrayfield Stadium Healy caught the eye as Connacht claimed their first PRO12 title with an impressive 20-10 victory over Leinster at Murrayfield. The winger oozed class from the word go and it didnt take long for him to make his mark on the game, weaving his way through the Leinster defence from a clearing kick after just 13 minutes. The 27-year-old got his just rewards for a dazzling start to the game moments before the hour mark when he capitalised on an AJ McGinty grubber to take Connacht out of reach of their Irish rivals.10. Lima Sopoaga (Highlanders)  Lima Sopoaga produced a sensational piece of skill to open up the Hurricanes defence The Highlanders may have slipped to a 27-20 defeat at the hands of the Hurricanes but that doesnt stop Sopoaga from taking the number 10 spot in our team of the week. His try in the 27th minute got the ball rolling for the Highlanders but it wasnt his finishing that caught the eye.The Highlanders fly-half produced a moment of magic in difficult conditions when he turned his back on the defenders and produced an overhead kick into space for centre Matt Faddes to gather at full-speed. Sopoagas brilliance didnt result in a try as the Canes last ditch defence forced a turnover but it certainly got the rugby world talking. 9. Faf de Klerk (Lions)  Faf De Klerk steered the Lions to victory over the Bulls in Pretoria The electric scrum-half was a stand-out performer as he orchestrated the Lions 56-20 win over the Bulls. The seven-try win over the Bulls takes the Lions seven points clear of the Sharks and six clear of the Stormers in the South African group, while condemning the Pretoria side to their first home loss of the season.  His quick service and attacking mindset was at the forefront of everything that was goood about the Lions with the scrum-halfs enterprising play securing himself the man-of-the-match award. San Diego Padres Jersey.  1. Ronan Loughney (Connacht) Connachts John Muldoon (L) and Ronan Loughney celebrates Loughney is one of the hardworking clubmen that Pat Lam has built Connachts success on. A stalwart for 11 seasons at the club, he has worked hard at the coalface and has started the last three games. He was solid in the set-piece and carried well - his defensive efforts were also first rate making 17 tackles in all. In a team full of unsung heroes, Loughney likes to remain under the radar but he fully deserves his place in our team of the week. 2. Schalk Brits (Saracens) Schalk Brits sparked the Saracens attack into life as they claimed a historic European and domestic double Not many teams can call their hooker one of their most potent attacking weapons, but Brits more than fills that description at Saracens. The live-wire 35-year-old was heavily involved throughout the victory but it was after 33 minutes that he stamped his authority on the game, when he spotted a gap and danced past Mitch Lees to set up a scoring opportunity for the north London club that Scotland international Duncan Taylor duly finished.3. Charlie Faumuina (Blues) Charlie Faumuina put in some crunching hits in defence With hands any centre would be proud of and a deceptively quick step, Faumuina is not your average prop. However, in the Blues win over the Crusaders it was his crunching hits in defence that took centre stage. The prop used his sizable frame to put in a bone-shuddering hit on Johnny McNicholl as Crusaders fly-half Richie Mounga kicked two late penalties to down the Blues with a 26-21 victory on Saturday.Faumuina was also excellent in the set-piece but it wasnt enough to secure the victory for his side.4. Joe Launchbury (England) Joe Launchbury was man-of-the-match as England eased past Wales A commanding perfomance from the Wasps lock saw him deservedly receive the man-of-the-match award at Twickenham. His work-rate was exceptional and he dominated in the air, stopping any kind of Wales momentum at line-out time and rising highest at the restarts, while also topping the carries charts with 13. Launchbury showed Jones that he is back to where he was before his spell on the sidelines with a neck injury and is ready to challenge the Saracens duo of George Kruis and Maro Itoje for a starting spot in Australia. 5. Aly Muldowney (Connacht) Connachts Aly Muldowney was a rock in defence for the Irish side As Connacht completed a PRO12 fairytale, Muldowney was a rock in defence. The lock put in 20 tackles during the match but also made a telling contribution in attack.Muldowney stepped into the role of second receiver with ease throughout the match providing passes that many a fly-half would envy while also putting in 14 carries. He will be sorely missed by Pat Lams men next season as he heads for pastures new and Top14 side Grenoble.6. Dave Ewers (Exeter)  Dave Ewers of carries against Saracens A tough day at the office for Exeter and Ewers but they showed in the second-half that the future is very bright for the Chiefs. Ewers really put in the hard yards against a very physical Sarries pack and with Thomas Waldrom ruled out, he was their go-to man when it came to taking the ball up.With 16 carries - the second best for Exeter behind Jack Nowell - Ewers was also instrumental in Exeters maul which brought them back into the game. He also topped the Chiefs tackle count - 14 in all. 7. Ardie Savea (Hurricanes) Highlights of the Super Rugby game between the Hurricanes and the Highlanders Savea broke Highlanders hearts when his last-minute try snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for the Hurricanes on Saturday. The flanker had a strong all-round game in Wellington while scoring a brace in the match, including bursting his way through in the final minute to score the match-winning try and reserve the result from last years final. The weekend then got even better for the 22-year-old when he was named in the All Blacks squad to face Wales this summer, joining big brother Julian and justifying his decision to turn his back on his quest for Olympic sevens glory. 8. John Muldoon (Connacht) John Muldoon captain Connacht to Guinness PRO12 triumph on Saturday The man who lead Connacht to PRO12 glory takes his place at No 8 in our team of the week. His side weathered all that Leinster threw at them while out-playing the favourites in front of a 34,000 plus strong crowd. He ensured his team were at their best and werent overawed by the occasion, continuing with their attractive style of play, whilst leading from the front with a man-of-the-match display. After 13 seasons and 275 appearances Muldoon got the rewards he so rightly deserves.   Also See: Barnes talking points Greenwood: Perfect preparation Farrell: We want more titles Lam seeks golden Connacht era Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
